Welcome to the Interactive Storybook Journey!

Please enjoy a creative journey with the Interactive Storybook, a collaborative work of imagination, creativity and collective storytelling from a vibrant community of students. Here, each chapter turns to reveal a unique story, each piece meticulously woven into the next, creating a wealth of tales from the imaginations of teenage students.

How was the storybook created?

The Storybook is not just a collection of stories, but a journey through the collaborative imagination of the students involved. Through a method we affectionately refer to as 'literary relay', each student creator contributes to the story and transfers the narrative baton to the next, creating a storytelling adventure that is smooth, yet wonderfully unpredictable. Each author becomes a key piece of a larger puzzle, contributing their unique ideas and perspectives to the evolving narrative.

The rules of the literary relay:

-Each participant contributes a segment that moves the story forward.

-Each new segment respects and builds on the previous one, maintaining coherence and consistency.

-Creativity has no limits - but participants make sure that their additions are in line with the previous narrative.

Explore the process of story creation:

Please visit the Forum Board for a comprehensive guide to the creation of this interactive storybook, starting with a set of rules designed for educators initiating such a project. Browse through the individual story segments uploaded by student participants following these guidelines, and watch the creativity unfold in corresponding video clips on the YouTube channel.

Join us in celebrating collaborative storytelling:

This project aims for this prototype to serve not only as a reading experience, but also as a celebration of collective creativity, expression, and the limitless possibilities of collaborative storytelling in education.

Please explore, enjoy and provide your valuable feedback to help us improve the interactive storybook and make the future chapters even more engaging.

Happy reading and exploring!

The fifth story

Only students? His mind was utterly fulfilled with bewilderment. …… The silent went on for a second. ‘Why is he saying to me like this?’ He thought. He glanced the mirror that was standing front of him, and he was now terrified. His limbs were all grown, the beard, mustache was lodged in his face, his voice chimed as if it was a Cello, thinking if this was a dream over a dream, but the slap felt painfully vivid. “What happened to me? Why am I grown? What is the exact time now?”. He shouted, enraged, but also a desperation to escape this situation. The last thing he remembered was him, lying down making a dauntless promise that he would read a book, but my tidings are now somehow flipped upside down and disappeared to a dust. “And nobody, nobody calls me comrade.” He continued

Transformation and Self-Discovery

ree

In this final story, the protagonist undergoes a profound transformation. Initially, he is confused and desperate, confronted with a reality that doesn't align with his memory. This confusion and desperation could be seen as the 'Ordeal' in the story arc, where the protagonist faces his greatest internal or external challenge. The touch of the book – a symbolic and literal gateway to his past and future – serves as a transformative catalyst. This moment might be likened to the 'Reward' phase in the story arc, where the protagonist achieves a significant milestone after the ordeal.

Through this touch, he is jolted back to his true self – the young boy with a nimble mind and a love for stories. The library, previously a place of conflict and challenge, re-emerges as a sanctuary and a source of joy and adventure. It is where he can be himself, living out numerous lives and tales through the books he reads.

This transformation marks a significant self-discovery for the protagonist, as he reconnects with his love for reading and storytelling. In essence, he finds ‘himself’ again, which is indicative of a classic transformation or self-discovery arc, where the protagonist comes to understand something new and essential about themselves or their world.

The sixth story

His nimble mind raced, grasping at fragments of memories that seemed distant yet vivid. As he touched the leather of the book he'd promised to read, he felt a jolt, like electricity passing through him. The library around him began to shift and transform. No longer was he an adult, but the young boy from the past. The countless tales, the water pranks, Batman, Joker, and the reading club; everything had been a whimsical journey through the pages of the books around him. The library had been his escape, a place where he could live countless lives and adventures.
